What we did? Creative Direction / Event Identity / Keyart / Website Design
Wild Thoughts
TEDx VeniceBeach appoached Deniz Hotamisligil (Hota) as the Creative Director for the event. The challenge lay in crafting a distinctive, locally-rooted event that also honored and maintained the integrity of the TED brand. After numerous creative sessions and collaborative efforts, we settled on the theme "Wild Thoughts." At the core of TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) are "ideas worth sharing," and what community embodies this better than Venice Beach? With its enduring edge, creative brilliance, forward-thinking spirit, the rise of "Silicon Beach" as a tech hub, and its ongoing transformation and gentrification, Venice Beach stands as the ideal backdrop for a TEDx conference.
Don't give people what they want, give them what they never thought possible.
Charles Eames
The Eames Spirit
We were gifted the Eames Studio to host TEDx Venice Beach. Charles & Ray Eames were a big part of Venice Beach History, in innovation, design, and technology, making their wild thoughts a reality.
The
Keyart
Our vision for the Keyart was focused and clear. We aimed to capture the iconic elements that have made Venice Beach a dynamic hub of innovation, ideas, and creativity from its past to the present. Our goal was to integrate these elements seamlessly with the TEDx brand, creating a harmonious and cohesive design.
What is in the Keyart?
We’ve extracted and included local artists, designers, thought leaders, cultural icons, inventions such as works by John Baldessari, Charles & Ray Eames, Max Neutra, The Art of Chase, Abbot Kinney, the invention of the skateboard… and more
Our Motto
Venice Beach has always been wild--
artists, designers, innovators, freaks,
and dreamers. Ambitious visions,
radical experiments, and innovative designs--
were all hatched here.
In this unprecedented moment,
our wildest ideas
and most radical dreams
are needed more than ever.
We need bold ideas,
crazy notions, and brilliant schemes.
These times call for
Wild Thoughts.
